Machine Builder Assembler

The position of Intermediate Machine Builder fit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering notes, drawings, and knowledge of material handling equipment, machines and equipment using hand tools and power tools; Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual and plans machine building operations.

Assemble, modify and install custom designed special purpose machinery in a time sensitive environment to meet or exceed customer expectations
Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
Aligns components for assembly, manually or with equipment, and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together, using power tools
Responsible for the integration of mechanical and fabricated components, manufactured details and sub- assemblies to construct automated machinery for custom applications
Perform critical precision alignments and set-ups of mechanical components and systems and take measures to ensure integrity of set-up
Identify any technical issues with supplied materials, components and equipment
Responsible for identifying mechanical deficiencies in the build and accurately documenting as build changes so engineering drawings can be updated
Responsible to work with engineering, electrical, and controls departments to see jobs through to completion
Responsible for organizing materials and work space in the most efficient manner for builds after reviewing drawing packages. Must identify all tools, fasteners, miscellaneous items and equipment required to complete tasks efficiently and work with shop supervisor to secure all required material in a timely manner
Participate in equipment tear down, packaging, rigging as necessary
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area
Wear appropriate clothing to meet the job standards
Other duties as assigned
2+ years experience in automated material handling
Mechanical Aptitude, forklift operation and overhead crane operation
Familiar with lean manufacture policies
Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, to include Excel, Word
